Live Market Updates: Sensex Extends Losses, Nifty Breaks 8900; Tata Motors Drags

Benchmark indices extended losses on caution ahead of exit polls tomorrow for assembly elections that will end today. 

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 114.48 points at 28885.08 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 34.80 points to 8912.10, weighed by auto, banks, oil and technology stocks. 

About 1447 shares declined against 866 advancing shares on the BSE. Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Adani Ports, Maruti, ONGC and Tata Steel fell over a percent followed by Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank.
