Stocks in Asia mostly slipped on Wednesday afternoon trade following overnight developments on the US-China trade front. In mainland China, the Shanghai composite was fractionally lower by the afternoon, while the Shenzhen component added 0.58%. The Shenzhen composite also rose 0.484%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index slipped 0.31%. The Nikkei 225 in Japan fell 0.43% in afternoon trade, with shares of index heavyweight and conglomerate Softbank Group dropping more than 2%, while the Topix was 0.18% lower.
